My teacher, my friend....
Someday I'm going to write a book. I have an amazing story of a little girl and her 2nd grade school teacher, Mrs. Rice. We lived in a little (real little!) town in KS when I was a kid. My grandparents lived there all their lives and we were lucky enough to live next door to them for a couple of awesome, amazing, unforgettable years. I was so heartbroken when I found out we had to move back to the city. I don't remember this part but Mrs. Rice told me I was sitting with my legs up and my head down on them at recess crying my eyes out. She asked me what was the matter and I explained I had to move. I was in the 3rd grade by then. She tried to tell me I'd make new friends and I said that I wouldn't know what my friends there would be doing. So she told me she would write to me and let me know what was going on and that made me happy so I jumped up and ran off to play. We moved to Missouri and the letters started coming. We were pen pals for years and years and we became very close. I would visit her each time I came to see my Grandparents and she even made the trip to Missouri for my wedding. The neatest part is I saved every single letter she ever wrote to me and she saved every single one I wrote to her!! She just gave them all back to me and I figure someday I'll sit down and go through them and maybe use some of them to write our story. I'm going to drive 3 hours tomorrow to go and see her since I have the day off. I'll stay one night and head back early Friday. It will be so good to go back "home" as I always feel like that when I get to that little part of the world. The crunch of the gravel under my shoes and the smells of pasture take me back to that special time of my life.

What a great story!! Count me as first in line to by that book when you write it, those kinds of stories inspire me to be a better teacher. You mentioned how the link color works so I worked through the steps incase your interested: from your dashboard click on "layout" then click on "fonts and colors." On that page scroll down through the box on the left until you see "link color' then click on a color your want your links to be and save the change. That should work!
