Hi, Stacey DeGrace here! πŸ‘‹ I thought you might like to see the face behind my art.

I was thinking of fun facts about me and came up with a few random things not in any certain order: ⁣

🌊 I have swam with the manatees & would again! I have climbed Big Brutus' πŸ‘·‍♀️ boom to the top!(never again!) I still go to drive-in movies. πŸš— I had an amazing first kissπŸ’‹ I learned to scuba dive but really love snorkeling. 🏝 Seen 2 oceans + the gulf πŸ‘™ & one of the great lakes. I have toured the capital of the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ.  I am a 🐾 RVT πŸ‘©‍⚕️ and have been for almost 30 years! I pulled blood πŸ’‰ on a horse before I ever got to ride on one 🐎. I lose my ♥ to a dog πŸ• almost daily & to a few cats too. 🐈 I found true love πŸ§—‍♂️ (that's my Jimmy climbing a wall). 😍 I have an ugly toe πŸ‘£. Witnessed springtime waterfalls πŸ’¦on Mt. Rainer πŸ”Got married πŸ’’. Had a child 🚸. Raised a family. Became a grandma! πŸ’— Taken a sunset sail. ⛵ Learned to paint 🎨 Love to travel! ✈ I still love rollercoasters 🎒 (even at this age) & picnics πŸ‰. Crowned πŸ‘‘ twice & sang karaoke twice too(terribly!)πŸ˜† I love to canoe πŸ›Ά, go boating or wade in a creek any chance I get. Fishing is ok too 🎣 (I'm a water girl!). I'm also God's girl. πŸ™ He is my rock, Jesus is my light, my #1 and where I find my joy πŸ’―%.⁣

I like to eat, shopπŸ›& play! I struggle with my weight and I don't danceπŸ’ƒ near enough. ⁣

I love to capture a moment with a photograph πŸ“Έ but love it even more if I can recreate it with a painting.πŸ–Œ I put my ❤ & soul behind what I do. I hope it brings you JOY to share in my art and in my journey. Thanks! ⁣

My New Art Line

This year I had a client contact me and ask if I could paint her deceased pet in a colorful way.  I enjoyed working with the bright colors so much that I decided to offer it to all my clients!  I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician (animal nurse) for almost 30 years and so I'm very familiar with the Rainbow Bridge story.

So imagine if you will that our beloved pets travel to the "Rainbow Bridge" and as they arrive their colorful spirits shine bright overcoming their earthly appearances.  That was what I was picturing as I painted this first painting and each painting since.

I'm starting a new line of watercolors and calling it the "Over the Rainbow Bridge" series.
These are 100% hand painted watercolor art made by me (NOT digital).  But what is really interesting about this line is if you change my art digitally to a black & white picture it looks just like the pet 100% again!  I thought this was so neat.  I did it to compare my shadows and I couldn't believe it!  I love this line and hope you will too!!

If you are interested in purchasing an original one of your own pet they start at $75 for an 8x8 or 8x10 size unframed. Shipping will be added also for those of you not local to Independence, Missouri or the surrounding areas.  If you live in Blue Springs, MO  you can order through Genevieve's website. If you live anywhere else you may order through my Facebook page:  Stacey DeGrace Simple Subtleties Art
or my Etsy store:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/simplesubtleties where the shipping charge is already included with the price.

It usually takes me about 2 weeks turnaround time unless I have several orders then it may take longer. I can also do the traditional pet portrait.

If you want a print of any of these you can find them in my on-line gallery

Delusional?

I know I have not posted in a very long time but this struck me funny and I wanted to share it and felt this was the best audience.

So yesterday I felt pretty.  I had a good hair day, my make-up went on nicely for a change or so I thought.   I was wearing a brand new shirt and some shoes with a heel.  As a side note, I NEVER wear heels! I left my house early and told my husband good-bye.  No comment.  Went by my daughter's house to pick up my grandson, no comment.  Went to church.  No comments from anyone.  Met my brother and sister in law for lunch and then on to a demolition derby.  No comment all afternoon from them either and my sis is usually the first to notice a new shirt.  Ran into my other brother and his son.  No comment.   Back to church for an evening event.  Still no comments.  Came home and STILL no comment from the husband.  Then today my sister in law posts a picture of us at the derby and granted, I had a sweatshirt on because it was cold,  but oh my gosh! I look terribly big.  I AM the heaviest I have ever been in my life so there is that.  Guess I didn't look so hot yesterday after all.  Just wondering if anyone else ever feels like they are looking good and then realize maybe not so much?

Anyways,  it was a really wonderful day though.  Great weather, great family and friends, a fun derby and my church is pretty great too.  I did spend much of the day smiling & laughing.  I'm not delusional about all that at least.
Me in the grey.

Image of Jesus in 1942 photograph

This is a photograph of a bird in a tree that my grandmother took in 1942.  She kept it in her bible because of the image of Jesus that came out of it.  My father has the original.

I wanted to share it with the world.  I thought it was spectacular when I when I first seen it 40 years ago, and it still makes me feel so happy to look at it today.
